UPDATE: Sister Act is now postponed to 2022, with Whoopi Goldberg no longer playing Deloris Van Cartier. Read here for more information.

Actor Clive Rowe will join the cast of the Sister Act revival, which is set to star the film's lead Whoopi Goldberg, when it runs in London this summer.

Olivier Award winner Rowe will play Eddie Souther in the musical, the police chief who suggests Goldberg's character Deloris joins a witness protection programme which sees her embedded in a convent of nuns.

Rowe has previously appeared in Carousel, Sweet Charity, and Chicago in London, and won an Olivier for best supporting actor in a musical for his role in Guys and Dolls at the National Theatre.

He joins Goldberg, who has previously appeared in Sister Act as Mother Superior at the London Palladium, for the production at the Eventim Apollo from 21st July 2020.

Last week, it was announced that more tickets would be released for Sister Act this Friday, as the production extends by a week.
