The full cast has been revealed for the world premiere of Eric Roth's [*High Noon*](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/45360-high-noon), which begins performances at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 17 December. 

Joining Emmy and Tony Award winner Billy Crudup and Olivier Award winner Denise Gough are Billy Howle, Rosa Salazar, Simon Chandler, James Doherty, Misha Handley, Joshua Hill, Jonah Russell, Rebecca Lee, and Tim Steed.

Directed by Olivier Award winner Thea Sharrock, *High Noon* is based on the 1952 film by Carl Foreman, which was named one of the greatest westerns ever made. Set in the 1800s, the play explores the love between Will Kane and Amy Fowler, which is tested by impossible choices as deadly outlaw Frank Miller returns on the high noon train. 

The play has set and costume design by Tim Hatley (*Life of Pi, Back to the Future The Musical*), lighting design by Neil Austin (*Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Born with Teeth*), music by Chris Egan, sound design by Nick Lidster, choreography and movement direction by Lizzi Gee, and fight direction Kate Waters.

The Harold Pinter Theatre, established and adorned with Victorian architecture in 1881, is one of the most notable theatre venues in the heart of London. Originally known as the Royal Comedy Theatre, it later adopted the name of 'Harold Pinter', honouring the famous playwright. The theatre is situated conveniently in the centre of the bustling West End, an ideal location for tourists and locals alike. The interior is decorated with an impressive array of original features aligned with its historical era of inception, creating an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for theatre-goers. The theatre has an audience capacity of 796 people across four levels, with the seats divided into Stalls, Dress Circle, Royal Circle and Balcony. Over time, it has been home to many outstanding performances, including shows like 'The Homecoming', 'Moonlight', and 'Betrayal'. The Harold Pinter Theatre undoubtedly offers a memorable and culturally enriching experience for all those who visit.

### How to Get to the Venue 

Harold Pinter Theatre is accessible and well-connected, located at Panton Street in the City of Westminster. The closest Underground stations are Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, both within a short 5-minute walk. Numerous buses service the area regularly, making it straightforward to reach using public transport. For those driving, the MasterPark at Whitcomb Street and NCP at Denman Street are the nearest parking options.

The Harold Pinter Theatre opened on 15 Oct. 1881 as a comic opera house. Its name on opening was the Royal Comedy Theatre, though its ‘Royal’ epithet was dropped in 1884.

The Comedy Theatre helped establish the New Watergate Club in 1956, a society which helped overturn the stage censorship enforced by the Lord Chamberlain’s Office. The formation of the Club meant that the plays banned by the Government could be performed at this venue as it was now being run as a private club rather than a commercial entity. Notable plays in this category include Arthur Miller’s *A View from the Bridge* and Tennessee Williams’ *Cat On A Hot Tin Roof*. The censorship was finally overturned in 1968. 

Harold Pinter's works were often performed here: *The Homecoming*, *The Caretaker*, *Moonlight*, *No-Man’s Land* and *The Hothouse* all enjoyed successful runs, and Pinter directed a production of *The Old Masters* here in 2004. After his death, it was thought fitting to bestow the honour of naming a theatre after him, and the name was officially changed on 13 Oct. 2011 to the Harold Pinter Theatre. The Ambassador Theatre Group own the Harold Pinter Theatre.

## Harold Pinter Theatre Seating Information

The auditorium has four levels – Stalls, Dress Circle, Royal Circle and Balcony. The top three levels are a horseshoe shape around the stalls.

The Stalls is a single block of seats, and offers good sightlines. Some seats are impaired by supportive pillars and the overhang of the Dress Circle.

The Dress Circle doesn’t offer a great raking in the seating, but the view is not affected by the overhang of the Royal Circle. 

The Royal Circle seats curve towards the stage more noticeably than the Dress Circle.

The Balcony feels very high in this theatre.

Denise Gough is starring in *High Noon*, opposite Billy Crudup, in the West End. She recently reprised the role of Emma in Duncan Macmillan’s [*People, Places & Things*](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/40085-people-places-and-things) at the Trafalgar Theatre. 

Gough is an Irish actress born in 1980, who trained at the Academy of Live and Recording Arts.&nbsp;She started her London theatre career in&nbsp;By the Bog of Cats&nbsp;and&nbsp;As You Like It, both at the <a href="/theatres/wyndhams-theatre">Wyndham's Theatre</a>. She then performed in off-West End shows including&nbsp;Our New Girl&nbsp;at the&nbsp;<a href="/theatres/bush-theatre">Bush Theatre</a> and in Eugene O’Neill’s Desire Under the Elms at <a href="/theatres/lyric-hammersmith-theatre">Lyric Hammersmith Theatre</a>.

Following this success, she starred as Julia in The Duchess of Malfi at the <a href="/theatres/sam-wanamaker-playhouse">Sam Wanamaker Playhouse</a> in 2014 which was filmed and broadcast on BBC4. Gough also performed in Duncan Macmillan’s People Places and Things at the <a href="/theatres/national-theatre">National Theatre</a> in 2015, playing a recovering drug addict. For&nbsp;People Places and Things, Gough won the Olivier Award for Best Actress.

She returned&nbsp;to stage in 2017 in Angels in America<a href="/show/angels-in-america"> </a>alongside <a href="/actor-profile/russell-tovey">Russell Tovey</a>, <a href="/actor-profile/nathan-lane">Nathan Lane</a> and <a href="/actor-profile/andrew-garfield">Andrew Garfield</a> at the <a href="/theatres/national-theatre">National Theatre</a>. For her performance as Harper Pitt, she earned the Olivier for Best Supporting Actress, as well as a Tony Award nomination for the role off Broadway. Her last stage role was as Portia Coughlan at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.

Gough also has a number of screen credits, including most famously the role of Dedra in *Star Wars* prequel *Andor*. She has starred in the 2018 film *Colette* opposite Keira Knightley, the mini-series *Too Close* with Emily Watson, *Under the Banner of Heaven* with Andrew Garfield, and in the 2023 thriller series *Who is Erin Carter?*

For those who prefer driving, there are a few NCP car parks nearby. The theatre is also easily accessible for cyclists, with several bicycle racks available in the vicinity.

He was last seen in the West End in one-man show *Harry Clarke* at the Ambassadors Theatre, having performed the show off Broadway (and winning a Drama Desk Award).

Earlier this year, he starred as Pastor Manders in *Ghosts* off Broadway at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.

Crudup is a Tony Award winner for the play *The Coast of Utopia* on Broadway. He is best known for his two-time Emmy and Critics' Choice Television Award winning performance on the AppleTV+ series *The Morning Show*.
