Full cast confirmed for Shadowlands

The full cast has been confirmed for William Nicholson's Shadowlands, which opens at the Wyndham's Theatre for a limited run on 8 Oct 2007, following previews from 3 Oct 2007- running to 15 Dec 2007.

The cast includes: Charles Dance (CS Lewis), Janie Dee (Joy Gresham), John Standing (Professor Christopher Riley), Richard Durden (Major W.H. Lewis), Graham Padden (Reverend 'Harry' Harrington), Alan Gregg (Drew Mulligan), Osmund Bullock (Dr. Maurice Oakley), Christian and Jonah Lees as 'Douglas', Adam Megginson (Douglas), Naomi Paxton (Nurse/ Witness), Sioned Jones (Registrar)

It is directed by Michael Barker-Caven, designed by Matthew Wright, with lighting by Peter Mumford.

The true love story of CS Lewis and Joy Gresham. Lewis, a leading Christian academic and author of many classic books including The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, , remained a bachelor until his fifties, when he met Joy Davidman. He was enchanted by this remarkable American woman, a divorcee with two young children. They fell in love and were secretly married. Lewis' ensuing encounter with love and suffering led him to reconsider many of the beliefs he had held so staunchly before their fateful meeting.

Charles Dance's recent West End stage credits include:"Long Day's Journey into Night" at the Lyric in 2000; "Good" at the Donmar Warehouse in 1999.

Janie Dee's recent West End stage credits include: "Donkey's Years" at the Comedy in 2006; "Mack & Mabel" at the Criterion in 2006; "Betrayal" at the Duchess in 2003; "My One and Only" at the Picadilly in 2002; "Comic Potential" at the Lyric in 1999; "Enter the GUardsman" at the Donmar Warehouse in 1997.
