The full cast has been revealed for Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia at The Old Vic in London. Performances begin at the venue on 24 January 2026, running through 21 March, and the show forms part of Matthew Warchus’s final season as artistic director.
This is the first time Arcadia has been performed at the London venue, having premiered at the National Theatre in 1993. Stoppard passed away on 29 November this year.
The full cast includes Gabriel Akuwudike as Richard Noakes, Fiona Button as Lady Croom, Angus Cooper as Valentine Coverly, Seamus Dillane as Septimus Hodge, Leila Farzad as Hannah Jarvis, Tim Frances as Jellaby, Holly Godliman as Chloë Coverly, Isis Hainsworth as Thomasina Coverly, William Lawlor as Gus Coverly/ Augustus Coverly, Colin Mace as Captain Brice, RN, Prasanna Puwanarajah as Bernard Nightingale and Matthew Steer as Ezra Chater.
They are joined by understudies David Buttle, Keziah Hayes, George Lorimer and Lizzie Schenk.
Spanning two time periods, Arcadia follows brilliant young student Thomasina Coverly and her tutor Septimus Hodge as they explore mathematics, science, and love, as well as the present-day academics researching those who once lived in the house.
