West End production of Alan Ayckbourn's comedy extends run by moving to Duke of York's Theatre

It has been announced that Billy Kenwright production of How the Other Half Loves by Alan Ayckbourn will extend its West End run by transferring from the Theatre Royal Haymarket to the Duke of York's Theatre where it will run from 7 July to 1 October 2016.

The production initially opened at the Theatre Royal Haymarket to strong reviews with many praising the strong direction and cast:  "It's a phenomenally well-choreographed scene, superbly staged by veteran Ayckbourn director Alan Strachan" (LondonTheatre.co.uk).

"As Bob and Fiona clumsily try to cover up their affair, their spouses' intervention only adds to the confusion. William and Mary Featherstone become hopelessly stuck in the middle, falsely accused of adultery and with no idea as to how they've become involved. The plot crescendos to two disastrous dinner parties on successive nights, after which the future of all three couples seems in jeopardy..."

The cast will continue to include Olivier Award nominee Nicholas Le Prevost as 'Frank Foster' opposite Jenny Seagrove as 'Fiona Foster'. Jason Merrells  continues as 'Bob Phillips', alongside Matthew Cottle as 'William Featherstone' and Gillian Wright as 'Mary Featherstone'. Joining the cast in the role of 'Teresa Phillips' will be Andrea Lowe.

How the Other Half Loves originally opened in the West End in 1970 at the Lyric Theatre where it ran for 869 performances.

The production is directed by Alan Strachan and features set and costume design by Julie Godfrey, lighing design by Jason Taylor and sound design by Dan Samson.

Tickets for the new booking period are now on sale.
