Iain Glen & Lesley Sharp in Frank Mcguinness' new version of Ghosts at the Duchess from 8 Feb 2010

Ghosts, by Henrik Ibsen, in a new version by Frank Mcguinness, will open at the Duchess Theatre 23 Feb 2010, following previews from 8 Feb - running to 15 May 2010.

Iain Glen will make his directorial debut with this new production. Apart from directing, Iain Glen will play 'Pastor Manders' and Lesley Sharp will play 'Mrs Alving'.

It is produced by Thelma Holt & Nica Burns.

Iain Glen's London stage acting credits include "The Crucible" at the Gielgud in 2006; "Hedda Gabler" at the Duke of York's in 2005; "A Streetcar Named Desire" at the Lyttelton, NT in 2002; "The Blue Room" at the Donmar Warehouse in 1998; "Martin Guerre" at the Prince Edward in 1996; "Henry V" and "The Broken Heart" both for the RSC at the Barbican in 1995.

Lesley Sharp will perform in "The Rise and Fall of Little Voice" at the Vaudevulle from 8 Oct 2009 to 30 Jan 2010, before appearing in "Ghosts" in Feb 2010. Her other London stage credits include "Harper Rgan" at the Cottesloe, NT in 2008; "The God of Hell" at the Donmar Warehouse in 2005. Her TV credits include "Clocking Off", "Bob and Rose" and "Afterlife".

Mrs Alving's is preparing for the opening of an orphanage - a memorial to her late husband. Her son Oswald, an artist, returns home for the celebrations. A story of love, betrayal and hypocrisy gradually unfolds as ghosts from the past come back to haunt the living, making sure the sins of the fathers are never forgiven.
