New musical Redcliffe, written by Bonnie & Clyde and Heathers star Jordan Luke Gage, will run for a limited engagement at Southwark Playhouse Borough from May 2026.

Gage, who was recently seen on stage as Cal in Titanique, will reprise the lead role of William, following workshop performances at The Other Palace in 2024.

Gage said, “It has been my greatest fulfilment creating Redcliffe and exploring the world of 18th century Bristol, a time that was beyond terrifying for men like me to exist in. To be able to tell this story, one which has never been told on the public stage, and to be able to hopefully move, uplift and change people, is beyond thrilling for me as both writer and actor.”

The new musical is set in 18th century England and based on the true story of forbidden love between William Critchard and Richard Arnold in Redcliffe, Bristol.

Further casting is to be announced in due course.
