Lauren Samuels and Danny Becker to star in The Last Five Years

A self-filmed production of The Last Five Years will be available to watch next month, it has been announced.

In a tweet by Daily Mail entertainment reporter Baz Bamigboye, Lauren Samuels and Danny Becker will appear in a production of Jason Robert Brown's two-person musical, with tickets available for 'performances' from 25th to 27th June. 

Samuels will direct and star in the production as Cathy, previously playing the role at the Tabard Theatre in 2011. Her West End credits include Scaramouche in We Will Rock You and Jules in Bend It Like Beckham.

Becker will play Jamie in The Last Five Years, currently starring in The Prince of Egypt at the Dominion Theatre. He's previously appeared in The Light in the Piazza and Aladdin.

With a book, music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, The Last Five Years follows Cathy and Jamie as they navigate their marriage. Cathy's story is told in reverse chronological order, with Jamie's story following storytelling convention.

Samantha Barks and Jonathan Bailey starred in a production of The Last Five Years in 2016 at the St. James Theatre (now The Other Palace). The musical was last seen in London at the Southwark Playhouse, with a final performance on 28th March 2020.
