Louise Redknapp and Brian Conley to return to 9 to 5 at the Savoy Theatre

Louise Redknapp and Brian Conley will rejoin the West End cast of 9 to 5 at the Savoy Theatre. They will reprise the roles of Violet Newstead and Franklin Hart Jr in the musical's West End premiere, with performances to 23rd May 2020.

Louise Redknapp to play Violet Newstead

Louise Redknapp will return to 9 to 5 to play Violet Newstead, previously appearing in the musical last year. Redknapp's debut performance in 9 to 5 last year was delayed due to injury in rehearsals, with Caroline Sheen stepping in to take over the role of Violet. Redknapp will return to 9 to 5 from 10th February and will perform in the production until the end of the show's run on 23rd May, excluding performances from 12th to 28th March.

Brian Conley to play Franklin Hart Jr

Previously originating the role of Franklin Hart Jr in the West End, Brian Conley will return to the production from 2nd March. In the West End, Conley has appeared in productions of Hairspray, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Me and My Girl, and has also appeared in national tours of Barnum and Fagin.

Currently starring in 9 to 5, David Hasselhoff will play his final performance as Franklin Hart Jr in 9 to 5 on 8th February. Sean Needham will play Franklin Hart Jr. for three weeks from 10th February, previously playing the role in the national tour of 9 to 5.

9 to 5 cast at the Savoy Theatre

Redknapp and Conley will join the 9 to 5 cast who will perform until the closing run, including Chelsea Halfpenny as Judy Bernly, Natalie McQueen as Doralee Rhodes and Bonnie Langford as Roz Keith.

The cast is completed by Victoria Anderson, Alexander Bartles, Stephanie Chandos, Conor Crown, Alexander Day, Rhiane Drummond, Demmileigh Foster, Ross Lee Fowkes, Molly-May Gardiner, Llandyll Gove,  Ben Irish, Jenny Legg, Sean Needham, Jon Reynolds, Ricardo Spriggs, Antoine Thomas-Sturge, Sasha Wareham and Emily Woodford.  

9 to 5 to close at the Savoy Theatre

The West End premiere of 9 to 5 will end its run at the Savoy Theatre on 23rd May 2020. 9 to 5 received its West End premiere on 17th February 2019, with Mark Shenton commenting on its "supreme confidence that's full of both wit and grit."

Later this year, the Savoy Theatre will be home to the Broadway transfer of Sunday in the Park With George starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford.

Based on the 1980s movie starring Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 centres around a trio of female colleagues at Consolidated Industries, working for the "sexist, egotistical" Franklin Hart. Jr. Taking their survival in an office environment into their own hands, the three women dream up ways to punish their boss, but when he's been absent for a long time, who will be in charge of the company?
