Louise Redknapp, professionally known as Louise was born in London in 1974. Best known for being in 1990’s R&B band Eternal, she has sold over 5 million records in the UK, and 15 million worldwide.
At 11, she started training at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, after winning a scholarship. Along with Kéllé Bryan and sisters Easther and Vernie Bernett, they formed the band Eternal in 1992, releasing their debut album in November 1993.
Redknapp left Eternal in 1995, starting her solo career. She had 8 Top 10 hits, including “Naked”, “Arms Around the World” and “2 Faced”. She returned to her music career in 2017, touring across the UK with "Intimate & Live", with the original run selling out, and is set to release new material after signing a solo record deal in late 2018.
Redknapp’s professional theatre debut was in 2017, starring as Sally Bowles in the UK tour of Cabaret to positive reviews. She starred alongside Will Young and Susan Penhaligon.
Outside of her performing credits, Redknapp reached the final of the 2016 series of Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Kevin Clifton. She was also a judge on the UK version of So You Think You Can Dance for both UK seasons, alongside Arlene Phillips, Nigel Lythgoe, Priscilla Samuels and Sisco Gomez.
She has also been the face of campaigns for Boots, Flora and Nintendo Wii, and was named FHM’s Sexiest Woman of the Decade in 2004.
Redknapp was set to make her West End debut in 9 to 5 at the Savoy Theatre, playing Violet, although she wa forced to withdraw from the show's West End opening due to injury. She will return to the show on 25th March.
