It’s been confirmed that a new bio-musical about the rise to fame of the Bee Gees is in the works, and could be eyeing a place in the West End.
Universal Theatrical Group is the team behind...
Assassins, a musical by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman, directed by Jamie Lloyd, from 21 November 2014 to 7 March 2015. The American Dream goes sour in this sometimes funny, sometimes disturbing examination of the people throughout history who have tried - and sometimes succeeded - in assassinating the President of the United States. (Tickets for the show will be on sale to the general public from 8 Sepember 2014.)
Buyer and Cellar, a comedy by Jonathan Tolins, starring Michael Urie, from 11 March to 2 May 2015. This is about an out-of-work actor working in Barbra Streisand’s personal shopping mall in the basement of her California home. Michael Urie is best known for his appearances in 'Ugly Betty', where he played the role of Marc St James. (Public booking is still to be announced).
The Menier Chocolate Factory have also announced that An Evening with Joan Plowright will take place on 14 September 2014. Dame Joan will be joined on stage by director Richard Digby Day and will discuss her long and distinguished career - from her early days, to her rise to stardom in London and on Broadway. Dame Joan will also talk about the National Theatre, which was established under her husband Laurence Olivier. (Tickets for this event will be on sale to the general public from 1 September 2014.)
