The UK premiere of Mrs. Doubtfire has been announced, opening in Manchester next year. Mrs. Doubtfire will run for a limited season at Manchester Opera House from 2 September to 1 October.

The Mrs. Doubtfire musical follows the same story as the 1993 film, which starred Robin Williams as the titular nanny. Mrs. Doubtfire follows Daniel, an out-of-work actor who creates an alter-ego to keep seeing his children. As Euphegenia Doubtfire, Daniel discovers more about his family, learning more about being a father.

Mrs. Doubtfire had a world premiere in Seattle in 2019, then transferring to Broadway in March 2020 but was forced to close after three performances. Mrs. Doubtfire reopened at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Broadway in October, and the opening night will take place on 5 December.

Speaking about Mrs. Doubtfire in the UK, producers Kevin McCollum and Jamie Wilson said:  "We are thrilled to announce that Mrs Doubtfire will make its UK premiere next year. Manchester is one of the great cities of theatre, and we can't wait to bring Mrs. Doubtfire to the Opera House. We hope audiences will take this hilarious and touching show to their hearts, and promise a great evening for everyone!"

Mrs. Doubtfire features a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell, original music and lyrics by Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick, direction by Jerry Zaks, scenic design by David Korins and choreography by Lorin Latarro.

Casting for Mrs. Doubtfire is to be announced. Further UK performances of Mrs. Doubtfireafter Manchester may be detailed at a later date.
