New casting announced for 9 to 5 the Musical in the West End

Casting has been announced for the West End production of 9 to 5 the Musical, as a second production gears up to tour the UK.

Amber Davies, the Love Island winner who made her West End debut in the musical in the role of Judy earlier this year, will play her final performance in the London production on 31st August before she joins the cast of the UK tour.

Chelsea Halfpenny will join the cast in the role of Judy and make her West End debut in 9 to 5 from 2nd September. She began her acting career in the TV show Byker Grove, and has also appeared in Emmerdale and Casualty.

Bonnie Langford, Brian Conley, Caroline Sheen and Natalie McQueen will extend their runs in the musical. Langford, Sheen and McQueen will continue in the show until 11th January, while Conley will appear in the show until 30th November.

From 2nd September, the London ensemble will feature Victoria Anderson, Alexander Bartles, Simon Campbell, Alexander Day, Rhiane Drummond, Demmileigh Foster, Molly-May Gardiner, Llandyll Gove,  Ben Irish, Jenny Legg, Natasha Mould, Jon Reynolds, James Royden-Lyley, Giles Surridge, Antoine Thomas-Sturge, Richard Taylor-Woods, Sasha Wareham and Emily Woodford.

The musical, which tells the story of three female office workers looking to get their own back on their misogynistic boss, opened in the West End at the Savoy Theatre in February. Based on the film starring Dolly Parton, it features a number of the country singer's biggest hits including "Backwoods Barbie", "Shine Like the Sun", "Let Love Grow", and the titular song.
