

New musical 'Glorious Madness' to premiere at the National Theatre
The new musical will have songs by Grammy and Brit Award-winning artist Joan Armatrading.
Glorious Madness will make its world premiere at the National's Dorfman Theatre in spring 2027. The show has been revealed as part of the National's 2027 season announcement.
The new musical will have songs by Grammy and Brit Award-winning artist Joan Armatrading, which will be framed within an original love story.
The show will be directed by Phyllida Lloyd (Grenfell: in the words of survivors), who brought the jukebox musicals MAMMA MIA! and Tina – The Tina Turner Musical to the stage. Glorious Madness will have a book by Iman Qureshi (The Ministry of Lesbian Affairs).
Further artistic team, casting, and performance dates to be announced.
