It has been announced that Aria Entertainment and SENBLA will present a new production of Burt Bacharach and Hal David's 1968 musical Promises, Promises which will run at the Southwark Playhouse in south London in January 2017. Exact dates, casting and creative team are yet to be announced.

Featuring music by Burt Bacharach, lyrics by Hal David and a book by Neil Simon, the musical is based on the 1960 film 'The Apartment' which features a screenplay by Billy Wilder and I.A.L. Diamond. The show follows Chuck Baxter, a junior executive at an insurance company who sets out to climb the corporate ladder by allowing his apartment to be used by his married superiors for extra marital affairs.

The original Broadway production premiered in 1968, running for 1,281 performances. It opened in the West End in 1969 featuring Tony Roberts and Betty Buckley, and this production will mark the first professional London revival. The score features a string of Bacharach hits including "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" which went on to became a hit single for Dionne Warwick. The show was revived on Broadway in 2010 in a production which starred Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth, and included two additional songs, "I Say a Little Prayer" and "A House Is Not a Home", which will also feature in the London production.

More information will be released about the production in due course.
