Ray Meagher returns to Priscilla... as Bob from 5 Oct 2011

Australian born Ray Meagher returns to the cast of Priscilla Queen of the Desert - The Musical, as 'Bob', at the Palace Theatre, from 5 Oct 2011.

Ray Meagher, who played the part of 'Bob' from 30 Sep 2010 to 5 March 2011, is best known for playing the role of 'Alf Stewart' in the Australian soap "Home and Away", a role which he has played since the first episode of the series in 1988. Last year Meagher won the Gold Logie Award for the Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. In 2007 he joined the Australian cast of "Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical" to play Bob in the original Sydney production. Meagher has worked extensively in pantomime throughout the UK, most recently playing Captain Hook in Peter Pan in Tumbridge Wells.

The current cast includes Don Gallagher (Bernadette), Richard Grieve (Tick) and Oliver Thornton (Adam), and Mark Moraghan (Bob).

The show opened at the Palace Theatre 23 March 2009, following previews from 10 March to mostly good notices from the popular press, and is currently taking bookings to 7 Jan 2012. (Rumours suggest the show may end on this date!)

Priscilla Queen of the Desert - The Musical, which had its world premiere in Sydney, Australia in October 2006, is written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, based on the 1994 movie The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

It is directed by Simon Phillips, designed by Brian Thomson, choreography by Ross Coleman, and costumes by Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner.

Drag queen Mitzi, and friends Felicia and Bernadette make their own personal journeys of discovery as they go across Australia from Sydney to the outback, in a battered old bus named Priscilla, to perform their show - singing their way through disco songs.
