Golden Globe winner Sandra Oh will make her National Theatre debut in a refreshed adaptation of Molière’s The Misanthrope from Martin Crimp. Performances will begin in the Lyttelton theatre from June.
Oh's screen credits include the series Killing Eve and Grey's Anatomy, and she has also performed in shows in New York including La Fille du Régiment at Lincoln Center and Twelfth Night at The Public Theatre, both in 2025.
Oh will star alongside Paul Chahidi (The Night Manager, Season 2) and Abigail Cruttenden (Ragdoll).
This new version of Molière's dark comedy will be "a biting adaptation that will interrogate 21st century private relationships and public debate, with Molière's infamous character – the misanthropic Alceste – here reimagined". National Theatre artistic director Indhu Rubasingham (Bacchae) directs.
