One of the best events of the summer for musical theatre fans is the annual West End Live, which sees the incredible casts of leading London shows step out of the theatre and congregate in Trafalgar Square. It’s a chance to sample dozens of productions all in one weekend: 20-21 June in 2026.

Even better, it’s all free, and you don’t need to book tickets – just show up on the day. That said, it is a busy event, so make sure you get there in plenty of time if you don’t want to miss out on seeing the West End’s biggest stars.

One of the most beloved West End shows of all turned 40 last year and its powers are as potent as ever.
