Current cast members Ammar Duffus (Charles Sinclair), Jack Gardner (Walter Henderson), Andy Langtree (Victor Creel), Lauren O'Neil (Virginia Creel), and Rufus Wright (Principal Newby) will continue in the cast.

In the role of Alice Creel, current cast members Maya Guinoubi and Tabitha Morley are joined by Phoenix Hamer and Emilia Rose. Completing the company are Lola Adaja, Bronte Alice-Tadman, Aoife Browne, Kaylah Copeland, Alex Dargie, Adéoré Edwards, Vanessa Fisher, Kieran Garland, Ross Green, Brandon Kimrayo, Ben Skym, Leah St Luce, Stanley Treshansky, and Selena Thompson.

Set in Hawkins, Indiana in 1959, *Stranger Things: The First Shadow* follows a young Henry Creel as his family settles into the small town seeking a fresh start. When strange occurrences and shocking crimes rock Hawkins, Henry begins to wonder if he might be responsible for the horror around him.

The fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series *Stranger Things* will air in November.

*Stranger Things: The First Shadow* is an eagerly awaited stage production written by Kate Trefry (writer on the *Stranger Things* TV show), featuring an original story by the Duffer Brothers (creators of *Stranger Things*), Jack Thorne (*Harry Potter and the Cursed Child*), and Trefry.

The production, directed by the esteemed Stephen Daldry with co-direction by Justin Martin, promises to expand the show's mythology and stagecraft, setting new standards in theatrical storytelling. 
*Stranger Things*, set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, premiered on Netflix in 2016. The series follows a group of young friends entangled in a supernatural conspiracy involving government experiments, alternate dimensions, and terrifying otherworldly creatures.

Since its debut on the streaming platform, *Stranger Things* has grown into a cultural sensation, winning numerous awards and garnering a dedicated following. Many of its young cast members, including Millie Bobbie Brown, were propelled into stardom by the show.

## What to Watch For
- The *Stranger Things* universe has previously been adapted into a live theatrical experience on multiple occasions. London witnessed an immersive *Stranger Things* experience by Secret Cinema in 2019, and the Vaults in London presented *Stranger Sings!* last year, a parody show featuring puppetry, whimsical songs, and a dancing Demogorgon.
- Before Netflix picked it up, the Duffer brothers initially faced several rejections of their pitch for *Stranger Things*.
-  *Stranger Things* co-creator Ross Duffer mentioned that when they first pitched the show, it was supposed to be a limited series, and the plan was for fan-favourite Eleven to sacrifice herself in the end. This, of course, never happened. Season five has been confirmed for future release, and Eleven is still a series regular in the show.
- This isn’t writer Jack Thorne’s first run-in with something *Stranger Things*-related. He wrote the screenplay for Enola Holmes 2, which stars Eleven actress Millie Bobbie Brown.

The Phoenix Theatre opened on 24 Sept. 1930. It was built on the site of the Alcazar Music Hall, a performance space that had fallen from grace into a casino.

Noël Coward’s *Private Lives* opened the Phoenix Theatre, starring Noel Coward and Laurence Olivier. On Coward's 70th birthday, the bar in the foyer of the theatre was given the name the Noël Coward Bar in his honour.

The theatre’s greatest success arrived in November 1991 in the form of *Blood Brothers*, Willy Russell’s musical. It ran for 21 years, finally closing on 10 Nov. 2012. The Phoenix Theatre was also home to the West End premiere of *Come From Away.*

## Phoenix Theatre Seating Information

The auditorium has three levels – Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle.

The seats in the Stalls offer very good views of the stage, with a light rake in the seating helping seats further back. 

The view from the Dress Circle is generally very good, though the rake of the seating is not as noticeable as in other theatres. 

The Grand Circle is surprisingly close to the stage, which is great for feeling involved in the show.
