It has been announced that Sue Johnston will star in the world premiere of The Man in the White Suit at the Wyndham's Theatre.

Based on the 1951 film starring Alec Guinness, The Man in the White Suit follows Sidney Stratton, a textile worker who discovers an indestructible fabric by chance, causing fear amongst trade unions and manufacturers. She joins the previously announced cast including Stephen Mangan as Sidney Stratton and Kara Tointon as Daphne Birmis.

Johnston will appear in the West End production for the first nine weeks, with details on who will take over the role as well as further casting for the production to be announced.

The Man in the White Suit  will open at Theatre Royal in Bath where it will play for three weeks before a subsequent West End transfer to January 2020.

The Man in the White Suit is at the Wyndham's Theatre from 26th September.
