The Book of Mormon announces cast changes from 1 Feb

The Olivier and Tony Award winning Best New Musical The Book Of Mormon has announced cast changes for the production at the Prince of Wale Theatre from 1 February 2016.

American actors KJ Hippensteel and Asmeret Ghebremichael will join the cast as Elder Price and Nabulungi, whilst Brian Sears will continue to star as Elder Cunningham alongside Olivier Award-winner Stephen Ashfield as Elder McKinley and Richard Lloyd-King as Mafala Hatimbi.

The hit musical recently extended its booking period to 30 April 2016 at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

The show originally opened on 21 March 2013, following previews from 25 February to mainly positive reviews from the popular press, with many praising its original concept and polished production: "Cleverly written...enormously enjoyable" (Londontheatre.co.uk); "Decadent and self-indulgent musical" (Telegraph); "mildly amusing" (Guardian); "Loved it" (Independent).

From 1 February 2016 the full cast will include: KJ Hippensteel (Elder Price), Brian Sears (Elder Cunningham), Stephen Ashfield (Elder McKinley), Richard Lloyd-King as (Mafala Hatimbi), Asmeret Ghebremichael (Nabulungi), Delroy Atkinson, Dean Maynard, Kelly Agbowu, Philip Catchpole, Christopher Copeland, Brendan Cull, Joseph Davenport, Jonathan Dudley, Harry Francis, Lydia Fraser, Tyrone Huntley, Reece Kerridge, Alex Lodge, Joshua Lovell, Tania Mathurin, David McMullan, Brianna Ogunbawo, Oliver Ormson, Sean Parkins, David O'Reilly, Stephen Rolley, Jacade Simpson, Rhys Taylor, Kayi Ushe, Ellena Vincent, Rodney Vubya and T'Shan Williams.

The Book Of Mormon follows a pair of mismatched Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that's about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get - Uganda. As they attempt to bring the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to a community ravaged by War Lords and disease, the pair find their friendship and faith tested by the extreme situations they find themselves in.

The musical is written by the team behind 'South Park' and has book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. It is directed by Casey Nicholaw and Trey Parker, designed by Scott Pask, lighting by Brian MacDevitt, choreography by Casey Nicholaw, costumes by Ann Roth, sound by Brian Ronan. It is produced in the West End by Anne Garefino, Scott Rudin and Sonia Friedman Productions.

The Book Of Mormon was nominated for six Olivier Awards, taking home four including the awards best Best Choreography, Best Actor in a Musical (Gavin Creel) and Best New Musical.
