Alan Bennett's The History Boys, will have a West End run, opening at the Wyndham's Theatre 3 Jan 2007, following previews from 21 Dec 2006 - booking to 14 April 2007

Produced by National Theatre and National Angels and directed by Nicholas Hytner, recreated by Simon Cox the cast includes: Stephen Moore (Hector), Isla Blair (Mrs Lintott), William Chubb (Headmaster), Orlando Wells (Irwin), Owain Arthur, Ben Barnes (Dakin), Philip Correia (Rudge), Marc Elliott, Thomas Morrison (Scripps), Akemnji Ndifornyen, David Poynor and Steven Webb (Posner); Ben Allen, Tina Gray, Derek Howard, Duncan Patrick, Stephen Uppal.

A comic drama about adolescent schoolboys. A group of bright, funny sixth-form boys in pursuit of sex, sport and a place at university. A maverick English teacher at odds with the young and shrewd supply teacher. A headmaster obsessed with results, and a history teacher who thinks he's a fool.

The History Boys had its world premiere at the Lyttelton, NT in May 2004 - running to 26 April 2005, then returning to the Lyttelton, NT 23 Sep to 29 Sep 2005 and 2 Dec 2005 to 1 Feb 2006. The play transferred to Broadway, with the original London cast in April 2006 - running to 1 Oct 2006. The History Boys comes to the Wyndham's following its second UK tour.

The film of "The History Boys", which also stars the original London stage cast, will be released by Twentieth Century Fox on 13 October 2006.
