‘The Lehman Trilogy’ sets new West End venue and 2023 performance dates
The production will return to London next year.
Following the news that The Lehman Trilogy will return to the West End in 2023, further information is now available. The Lehman Trilogy will run for 17 weeks at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, with previews from 24 Jan. 2023, an opening night on 8 Feb. 2023, and performances to 20 May 2023.
Stefano Massini’s play charts the formation of the Lehman Brothers bank. During the play, three actors recount the 163 years of banking history and its eventual global collapse. Find out more about The Lehman Trilogy in London.
The Lehman Trilogy premiered at the National Theatre in 2018, and later transferred to the Piccadilly Theatre the following year. In a five-star London Theatre review of The Lehman Trilogy, our critic said: “This is one of those occasions when the idea of a different cast taking on the mantle is heartbreaking. The singular alchemy of acting, design and direction in this production is so superb that it must be witnessed.”
The Lehman Trilogy recently played a limited run on Broadway, and won five Tony Awards at the 2022 ceremony: Best Play, Best Director (Sam Mendes), Best Actor (Simon Russell Beale), Best Scenic Design (Es Devlin) and Best Lighting Design (Jon Clark).
The Lehman Trilogy casting for 2023 performances will be announced at a later date. The show features costume design by Katrina Lindsay, lighting design by Jon Clark, and sound design by Nick Powell and Dominic Bilkey.
The Lehman Trilogy is at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.
