Somerset Maugham's The Letter, will open at the Wyndham's Theatre 1 May 2007, following previews from 19 April - booking to 11 Aug 2007.

Directed by Alan Strachan, the cast includes: Jenny Seagrove (Leslie Crosbie), Anthony Andrews (Howard Joyce), Andrew Charleson, Karen Ascoe, Jason Chan, Peter Sandys-Clarke, Sioned Jones, Andrew Joshi, Liz Sutherland, Jon David Yu, Jamie Zubairi.

Produced by Bill Kenwright, it is designed by Paul Farnsworth, lighting by Jason Taylor, music by Catherine Jayes, and sound by Ian Horrocks-Taylor.

When the wife of a Malaysian rubber planter, Leslie Crosbie is witnessed murdering a local playboy, she claims it was self defence. Utterly convinced of her innocence, her husband hires family friend Howard Joyce to defend her. The day before the case comes to trial a mysterious letter comes to light, casting doubt on her integrity and threatening to cost her and her family everything.

Jenny Seagrove's London stage credits include "Night of the Iguana" at the Lyric in 2005; "The Secret Rapture" at the Lyric in 2003; "The Constant Wife" at the Apollo & Lyric Theatres in 2002;"The Female Odd Couple" at the Apollo in 2001; "Brief Encounter" at the Lyric in 2000; "Hurlyburly" at the Queens in 1997; "Dead Guilty" at the Apollo in 1995; "The Miracle Worker" at the Wyndham's in 1994. Her TV credits include 'Jo Mills' in the BBC series "Judge John Deed."

Anthony Andrews' recent London stage credits include "The Woman in White" at the Palace in 2005; "My Fair Lady" at the Drury Lane Theatre in 2003; "Ghosts" at the Comedy in 2001.
