Following a nationwide tour, the children’s show The Smartest Giant in Town will play a West End season this Christmas. The Smartest Giant in Town is at St. Martin’s Theatre from 30 November to 1 Jan. 2023.

The Smartest Giant in Town follows George, a tall man who wants new giant-sized clothes. He feels put together and helps animals who need to change too. The Smartest Giant in Town will be the first production to play at St. Martin’s Theatre alongside The Mousetrap.

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s The Smartest Giant in Town is the latest of their stories to be in the West End, following The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom.

“I wrote The Smartest Giant in Town twenty years ago but the theme of generosity and kindness seems just as relevant today. The story really comes to life in Little Angel's adaptation, which is also very faithful to Axel Scheffler's brilliant illustrations,” said Donaldson.

Heidi Goldsmith, James Keningale and Ashton Owen will star in The Smartest Giant in Town. Little Angel artistic director Samantha Lane adapts and directs the production. The show features music by Barb Jungr, set and costumes by Kate Bunce, lighting by Sherry Coenen, and puppets by Judith Hope.
