The Theatre Café to launch new web series
The first episode will star Carrie Hope Fletcher, Matt Henry and Jenna Russell.
The Theatre Café and Adam Blanshay Productions will present a brand new series, it has been announced today. Named 'The Theatre Channel', the series will feature West End stars singing at The Theatre Café, as they perform renditions of well-known musical classics.
The first episode will be available to watch from October 2, with four more episodes scheduled for release this year. More information on purchasing episodes can be found here.
The full list of performers in the first episode include:
- Come From Away and Hamilton's Tarinn Callender singing "On Broadway" from Smokey Joe's Cafe.
- Ahead of starring in Cinderella and Frozen respectively, Carrie Hope Fletcher and Oliver Ormson will sing "Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors.
- The Olivier Award-winning actor Matt Henry MBE will perform "Let it Sing" from Violet.
- Waitress' Lucie Jones will sing "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret.
- Jenna Russell will perform "Ladies Who Lunch" from Company.
- Six's Jodie Steele singing "Heaven on Their Minds" from Jesus Christ Superstar.
Ahead of the first episode's release, producer Adam Blanshay said: "It's been a very emotional and beautiful few weeks to have had the humbling privilege of assembling with theatre artists and creatives, creating a platform to enable them to express their gifts and talents... All-at-once scenes, music videos, free-standing performances, The Theatre Channel is committed to celebrate everything beautiful and magical about theatre, and we hope will inspire imaginations across the Globe."
