A new family version of Hans Christian Andersen's folk tale The Tinderbox will run at the Charing Cross Theatre, a fringe venue in central London, for the Christmas season from 12 December to 2 January 2016, with an official opening on 15 December 2015.

The production has been adapted by Mandy Holliday who will also star in the show. Further casting and creative team are to be announced.

"Brian the Brave, a penniless solider is returning from the war. He acquires a magic tinderbox and embarks on a quest to find his true love. This enchanting, fun-filled musical features an array of wonderful, colourful characters, cleverly combining classical music and story-telling with comedy, lots of audience interaction."

The production is suitable for the whole family, and will feature special day time performances throughout the festive period.
