The pandemic forced theatres to close in March 2020. Now, as of 15 Nov. 2021, every West End theatre has now reopened with a production. The final theatre to reopen was the Playhouse Theatre, now named the Kit Kat Club, with Cabaret starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley.

Earlier this year, theatres were able to reopen with a socially-distanced audiences, with shows such as The Mousetrap and Six leading the charge. During the summer, theatres were able to welcome in full-capacity audiences, with many posting vaccine requirements. Find out more about vaccine requirements in London here

The West End has changed considerably since the pandemic began in March 2020. New shows have opened, including The Drifters Girl at the Garrick Theatre, Cinderella at the Gillian Lynne Theatre and Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical at the Lyric Theatre.
