Theatre people in the New Year Honours List include Actress Penelope Keith; actor John Wood(CBE); director Steven Pimlott (OBE); Old Vic theatre chief executive Sally Greene (OBE).
Actress Penelope Keith (CBE) is best known for her roles in TV sitcoms The Good Life and To the Manor Born. Her London stage credits include "Blithe Spirit" at the Savoy in 2004 and "Star Quality" at the Apollo in 2001
Actor John Wood (CBE) London stage credits include "Henry IV Part 1 & 2" at the Olivier NT in 2005; "No Man's Land" at the Lyttelton, NT in 2001; "Invention of Love" at the Cottesloe, NT in 1997 & Haymarket in 1998
Director Steven Pimlott OBE) has worked in both theatre and opera. His many London theatre credits include Bombay Dreams (Apollo Victoria); "And Then There Were None (Gielgud); Dr Dolittle (Apollo Theatre, Hammersmith); Never Land and The Strip (Royal Court); Butterfly Kiss ( Almeida); Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (London Palladium and worldwide); The Miser, Sunday In the Park with George (Royal National Theatre). For the RSC: Richard III, Julius Caesar, Murder In the Cathedral, Measure For Measure, Michael Hastings’ Unfinished Business ; Camino Real. HE has directed more than thirty productions of opera in the UK.
