The National Theatre production of War Horse is set to return to London later this year, as the first production opening a brand new theatre in Wembley Park.

Based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, the story is set in Devon where a young Albert is forced to see his beloved horse leave the family farm as he is sold to the Cavalry and shipped to France at the outbreak of the First World War.

Directed by Marianne Elliott, the play premiered at National Theatre in 2007 where it ran for two years across two runs in the Olivier before transferring to the West End's New London Theatre (now the Gillian Lynne) from 2009 to 2016. It returned briefly to the National Theatre's Lyttelton in November 2018 to mark the centenary of the Armistice.

War Horse will now run at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre from 18th October to 23rd November, and will be the first production to run in the new space. Tickets for the show will be available from 10am.

Troubadour announced the theatre at Wembley Park in May last year, and recently announced a second London venture at White City which is set to open in the summer.

War Horse is at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre from 18th October to 23rd November.

War Horse tickets will be available today.
