World premiere of ‘The Osmonds’ musical coming to London

The production will play for one week at New Wimbledon Theatre in August 2022.

A new jukebox musical i nspired by the lives and careers of The Osmonds will receive its world premiere next year. The Osmonds: A New Musical will open at Curve Leicester in February 2022, with performances at New Wimbledon Theatre in August 2022.

Based on a story by Jay Osmond, the musical will tell the story of the five Utah brothers who became world-famous sensations. From residencies on US television shows to becoming pop stars, the musical will chart the ups and downs in their careers.

The musical will feature 1970s songs, including "Puppy Love", "Crazy Horses" and "Long Haired Lover from Liverpool".

Initial casting includes Ryan Anderson as Merrill Osmond, Jamie Chatterton as Alan Osmond, Alex Lodge as Jay Osmond, Danny Nattrass as Wayne Osmond and Joseph Peacock as Donny Osmond.

Speaking about the jukebox musical, Jay Osmond said, "I've wanted to tell my story for such a long time and the opportunity to create this beautiful musical, a sort of 'living autobiography', seemed the perfect way to do so... I just want people to be enjoying themselves. I guess that is in the Osmonds' DNA."

The Osmonds: A New Musical has a story by Jay Osmond and book by Julian Bigg and Shaun Kerrison, and will be directed by Shaun Kerrison, with choreography and musical staging by Bill Deamer. 

The Osmonds: A New Musical is at New Wimbledon Theatre from 23 - 27 Aug. 2022.
