Donny Osmond On Stage - Theatre Credits, Bio and Tickets
Born in Utah, America, in 1957, Donny Osmond is a world-famous singer and actor who has been performing since the 1970s. In 2021, Osmond will make his West End debut in Pantoland at the Palladium.
Osmond first found fame as one of the Osmonds, expanding the family music quartet into a quintet. Donny sang alongside his brothers Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay. Together, the Osmonds released nine albums in a decade, with singles including “One Bad Apple” and “Down By The Lazy Rivers.” Donny Osmond then pursued a solo career, with chart-topping hits such as “Puppy Love” and “Young Love.”
From 1976 - 1979, Osmond hosted Donny & Marie, a television series with his sister Marie Osmond. 20 years later, Donny & Marie was recommissioned for two seasons, winning a Daytime Emmy Award.
As well as being a multi-chart-topping music star, Osmond has dipped his toes into musical theatre. Osmond made his Broadway debut in 30 performances of Little Johnny Jones at the Neil Simon Theatre in 1982. He then played Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Toronto for two years, later reprising the role in the 1999 film adaptation alongside Maria Friedman as the Narrator.
In 2004, Osmond then played Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. His final Broadway production was a return of Donny & Marie, which ran at the Marquis Theatre over the 2010 Christmas season. The lives of the Osmonds, including Donny Osmond, will be told in the world premiere of The Osmonds: A New Musical in 2022. Donny Osmond will not star in The Osmonds: A New Musical.
Donny Osmond will return to the stage this Christmas, this time playing the Wizard of Pantomime in Pantoland at the Palladium at the London Palladium.
