Danny Mac Actor

Danny Mac grew up in the seaside town of Bognor Regis and trained at the Arts Educational School in London, graduating in 2009. Having made his West End debut as the young Gavroche in Les Misérables in 1999, Mac returned to the London stage in the hit musical Wicked in 2009. He remained with the show for nearly two years, appearing in the ensemble and understudying the role of Boq. It was his 2011 casting in television soap Hollyoaks which led to him leaving the show. He stayed with Hollyoaks for 4 years, playing village heartthrob Mark “Dodger” Savage who found himself embroiled in several juicy storylines over the years. Mac won the Inside Soap Award for “Sexiest Male” in 2011, 2013 and 2014 and fans of the show were devastated when his departure was announced. Since then, Mac has shot to even greater fame on the 2016 series of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing. Dancing with professional partner Oti Mabuse, the pair regularly topped the leaderboard, and Mac scored 40 for his stunning Samba in Week 9 of the competition, becoming the first male celebrity in the show’s history to score a perfect mark for the Samba.

Danny Mac will be appearing on the 2017 Strictly Come Dancing tour and will return to theatre in May 2017 in the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre revival of On The Town.
