1938 at the Brockley Jack Studio Theatre in September

Ballast Theatre presents 1938, by Howard Colyer, adapted from Joseph Roth's 'The Emperor's Tomb', at the Jack Studio Theatre in Brockley, south London, from 1 to 5 September 2015.

Synopsis: "Late in the evening on 11 March, 1938, a man sits in a Jewish bar in Vienna as the German army invades Austria. The other guests flee - as does the owner - but he remains to contemplate his past and his future: bleak though that may be."

The production is directed by Kate Bannister and performed by David Bromley. Playwright Howard Colyer is the resident playwright at the Jack Studio.
