2026 Tony Award winners announced in New York

The best of Broadway took to the stage last night at Radio City Music Hall for the 79th Annual Tony Awards, hosted by P!nk.

Death of a Salesman not only led the pack with six wins including Best Play Revival, but became the most Tony-winning play revival in history. Best Musical winner Schmigadoon!, Best Musical Revival winner Ragtime, and *The Lost Boys* closely followed with four awards each.

In addition to the competitive awards, multiple special award recipients were announced in the weeks prior to the ceremony. The 2026 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre were awarded to production manager Jake Bell; designer and creative director Kenn Lubin; theatre lawyer Loren Plotkin; and 1/52 Project, a grant for early-career designers from marginalized groups.

Lifetime Achievement Awards went to former Lincoln Center Theater artistic director André Bishop, lighting designer Jules Fisher, and playwright/director James Lapine. Music director Mary-Mitchell Campbell won the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for humanitarian work. Ellenwood, Georgia middle school theatre teacher Freddie Hendricks won the Excellence in Theatre Education Award, and the American Players Theatre in Spring Green, Wisconsin won the Regional Theatre Tony Award.
