A Little Night Music to close 25 July 2009 at Garrick

The Menier Chocolate Factory production of A Little Night Music, has posted closing notices for 25 July 2009 at the Garrick Theatre. (The show was booking to 5 Sep 2009)

The production was at the 180 seat Menier Chocolate Factory Theatre from 22 Nov 2008 to 8 March 2009, before transferring to the West End's Garrick Theatre, opening 7 April 2009, following previews from 28 March 2009, to good notices from the popular press: THE GUARDIAN says, "Delicious production." THE TIMES says, "At its finest Nunn's production has needle-sharp poignancy." THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "I found myself almost continually entranced...It's a fine production of a musical that only misses greatness by a whisker."

The cast includes Hannah Waddingham (Desirée), Maureen Lipman (Madame Armfeldt), Alexander Hanson (Fredrik Egerman), Kelly Price (Countess Charlotte Malcolm), Jessie Buckley (Anne Egerman).

Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by Hugh Wheeler. It is directed by Trevor Nunn, designed by David Farley, lighting by Hartley T A Kemp, choreography by Lynne Page, sound by Gareth Owen.

It is produced in the West End by David Babani for Chocolate Factory Productions, Andrew Fell and Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer for Nimax Theatres.

Set in turn-of-the-century Sweden where affairs of the heart are uppermost in everyone's thoughts. The story centres on the passionate liaisons between four couples over a midsummer weekend.
