Welcome to a special edition of our Across the Pond series, where the editor of our sister site New York Theatre Guide catches you up on the stateside theatre news and shows you need to know about.

It's fall preview season in NYC (sorry, Brits, "autumn preview" doesn't have the same ring to it). That means we're about to see over 50+ new Broadway and Off-Broadway shows opening, some of which made their way over from hit runs in London. Others are completely and totally new — meaning you could be among the first to see them if you're planning a stateside theatre trip.

But to help you get started, we're sharing 10 Broadway and Off-Broadway shows that should be on your radar this autumn. Who knows, you might see some of them in London one day!

Can you handle the truth? Before there was the Oscar-winning The Social Network or the Emmy winning The West Wing, there was A Few Good Men. Aaron Sorkin's Broadway-debut military legal drama (and its film adaptation) launched the writer/director's career, and now it's back for the first time with original cast member and frequent Sorkin collaborator Bradley Whitford alongside The Hunger Games star Tom Blyth.

This production of The Fantasticks is monumental for multiple reasons. Secondly, it reimagines the plot as a gay love story, centring on two boys whose mums conspire to make them fall in love.
