Acting Gymnasium - Uncle Vanya & Cherry Orchard

Acting Gymnasium presents Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya and The Cherry Orchard, in repertoire at the Theatro Technis, near Mornington Crescent, north London, from 11 to 23 Aug 2014, as part of the 2014 Camden Fringe Festival.

Uncle Vanya, directed by Gavin McAlinden, depicts the visit of an elderly professor and his glamorous, much younger second wife, Yelna, to the rural Russian estate that supports their urban lifestyle. A tale of wasted lives, anxiety about the future and much unrequited love.

The Cherry Orchard, directed by James O'Donnell, concerns Lubov Ranevsky who flees an abusive relationship in Paris and returns to her native Russia to find that her frivolous lifestyle has caught up with her and the family home, where so much has happened, is to be sold.
