Aled Jones will make a special guest appearance in the evening performance of The Wipers Times on Sunday 11th November. Jones will perform a special arrangement of "Silent Night" with cast members during the Remembrance Sunday performance, in support with the Royal British Legion.

Jones is a Welsh singer and radio presenter who is best known for his cover version of "Walking In The Air" which reached number 5 in the UK charts in 1985. On stage, he has starred as Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and made his West End debut in 2014, appearing in White Christmas at the Dominion Theatre.

As well as Jones' guest appearance during the show, audiences at The Wipers Times on Remembrance Sunday will also be treated to a special introduction before the show, a post-show talk as well as a Q&A session with the playwrights Ian Hislop and Nick Newman.

The guest appearance is part of The Royal British Legion's "Thank You" campaign. Marking the centenary of the end of the First World War, the charity has organised many events across the country to commemorate the soldiers who fought during the war.

The Wipers Times dramatises the true story of two officers who discover an unused printing press while in the Belgian town of Ypres, which the soldiers pronounce as "Wipers". The play sees the soldiers rallying together to produce a newspaper that's thought-provoking and light-hearted, lifting spirits of the men on the frontline.

The Wipers Times will run at the Arts Theatre until 1st December 2018.
