ALONE IT STANDS CONFIRMED AT THE DUCHESS

It has been confirmed that Alone It Stands, a rugby comedy written and directed by John Breen, will open at the Duchess Theatre on 2nd Jan 02, following previews from 27th Dec 01, for a limited run of six weeks.

The cast includes Malcolm Adams, Dessie Gallagher, Garrett Lombard, Gerry McCann, Niamh McGrath and Paul Meade.

It is designed by Jack Kirwan with lighting by James C McFetridge.

It tells the story of Munster, a local Irish rugby team, winning against the All Blacks in 1978. Six actors play 60 characters including Tony Ward and the Munster team, the All Blacks and their coach, two fanatical Limerick supporters desperate for tickets, 'the quality' up from Cork, Sinbad the Dog and of course, the Bunratty Medieval singers. There is a birth, a wake, a bonfire and a rugby match !
