"ART" NEW CAST FROM 27TH MAY
There will be a new cast in Art at the Whitehall Theatre from 27th May 02. The new cast is Ben Cross (Marc), Alex Ferns (Serge) and Sanjeev Bhasker( Yvan). This will be the 25th cast of "Art" and they will play the parts to 14th Sep 02.
Nigel Havers will also be making his directorial debut.
Ben Cross Formerly of the RADA and Royal Shakespeare Company. His film credits include "Chariots Of Fire", and more recently "Live Wire", "First Knight" and "The Venice Project". His TV work includes "The Citadel" and "The Far Pavilions". His theatre work includes the original 'Billy Flynn' in the UK premiere of "Chicago".
Alex Ferns Best known as ' Trevor Morgan' a baddie from BBC 1 soap "Eastenders". His other TV appearances include "Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)" in 2000", " With Friends Like These" in 2000 and "O Happy Isle" in 2001. His film credits include "The Ghost and the Darkness" in 1996.
Sanjeev Bhasker TV credits include "Goodness Gracious Me", "Meet the Kumars" and "Small Potatoes". He also starred in the Hollywood blockbuster "Notting Hill" and presented a three-part series for Channel 4 on the Kama Sutra, entitled "Position Impossible".
Art by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, opened in London at Wyndham's Theatre on 15th Oct 1996 starring Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Ken Stott, and won both the Evening Standard Drama Award and the Laurence Olivier Award for 'Best Comedy'.
The show transferred to the Whitehall Theatre in October 2001 and is currently booking to 4th Jan 03
The play is directed by Matthew Warchus (Re-directed by Nigel Havers) . It is designed by Mark Thompson and produced by David Pugh Limited and Sean Connery.
The story concerns the relationship between three friends that is turned upon its head when one of them purchases a work of modern art.
