Cassidy Janson and Danny Mac to star in ‘The Mousetrap’ West End return

The longest-running play reopens from 17 May.

An all-star cast will reopen The Mousetrap at St. Martin's Theatre next month, continuing its record-breaking West End run. The Mousetrap will resume performances from 17 May, the day that theatres can reopen with socially distanced audiences.

Two casts for The Mousetrap have been announced for initial performances to 11 July, with further casting for performances from 11 July to be named.

The Mousetrap producer Adam Spiegel said: "The production is an enduring symbol of London theatre and I hope that its return signifies the first steps in the restoration of live theatre in London."

Considered to be one of Agatha Christie's greatest works, The Mousetrap sees a group of hotel guests snowed in one evening, all called to be investigated after a local murder. A killer is in their midsts, with characters revealing their pasts to uncover the murderer amongst them. First performed in London at the Ambassadors Theatre, The Mousetrap will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2022.

The new cast includes Cassidy Janson as Mollie Ralston, recently winning an Olivier for her performance in & Juliet. Danny Mac plays Giles Ralston, soon to return to Pretty Woman: The Musical at the Savoy Theatre. This cast is completed by Alexander Wolfe, Susan Penhaligon, Derek Griffiths, Lizzie Muncey, David Rintoul and Paul Hilliar.

The other cast stars Louise Jameson, Nicholas Bailey, Kate Tydman, Joshua Griffin, Paul Bradley, Sarah Moss, Tony Timberlake and Charlie Clements.

Performances from 17 May - 4 July will be performed with social distancing. Performances from 6 July - 30 Jan. 2022 will be to a full capacity auditorium.

The Mousetrap is at St. Martin's Theatre from 17 May.
