Casting has been announced for the Almeida's production of Anne Washburn's new play Shipwreck, which is set at a dinner with the 45th President of the United States.

Directed by Almeida Theatre artistic director Rupert Goold, the play is set during winter at an upstate farmhouse, as a group gathers to have a formal dinner with the president. It runs at the theatre from 12th February to 30th March.

The cast of the production will feature Tara Fitzgerald, Fisayo Akinade, Raquel Cassidy, Justine Mitchell, Khalid Abdalla, Elliot Cowan, Risteárd Cooper and Adam James.

Washburn, whose stage version of The Twilight Zone is to transfer from the Almeida to the West End early next year, has also previously had her Simpsons play Mr Burns staged at the theatre. It saw a group of people retelling the story of an episode of The Simpsons after they had survived a natural catastrophe.

The production will have design by Miriam Buther, lighting by Jack Knowles, sound design by Paul Arditti and costume design by Fly Davis.

Robert Icke's production of The Wild Duck currently runs at the Almeida, while the theatre's production of Summer and Smoke has just transferred to the Duke of York's Theatre.

The new season at the theatre includes Simon Russell Beale starring in The Tragedy of Richard the Second, and Rebecca Frecknall's production of Three Sisters.

Shipwreck is at the Almeida Theatre from 12th February to 30th March.
