Casting has been announced for Emma Rice's first production with her new company since her departure from Shakespeare's Globe, Wise Children, which will run at the Old Vic.

Wise Children, which is the name of both the play and her new company, has been adapted and will be directed by Rice. It is based on the Angela Carter novel which tells of identical twin chorus girls Dora and Nora Chance, and their theatrical family. It will run at the Old Vic from 8th October, with an official opening night on 17th October.

The cast of Wise Children will include Sam Archer, Ankur Bahl, Stu Barker, Omari Douglas, Mirabelle Gremaud, Alex Heane, Paul Hunter, Melissa James, Bettrys Jones, Patrycja Kujawska, Etta Murfitt, Katy Owen, Ian Ross, Gareth Snook and Mike Shepherd.

Wise Children is the first production of Rice's new company's residency at the Old Vic. A revival of her production of Brief Encounter recently ran in the West End to glowing reviews.

This production will have designs by Vicki Mortimer, compositions by Ian Ross, sound and video by Simon Baker, lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, choreography by Etta Murfitt, animation by Beth Carter and Stuart Mitchell, puppetry by Lyndie Wright and fight direction by Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown.

Wise Children is at the Old Vic from 8th October.
