Casting has been announced for the Hampstead Theatre transfer of The Wasp, which will officially open on 11 December 2015 at Trafalgar Studios 2, following previews from 8 December, and is booking to 16 January 2016.

MyAnna Buring and Laura Donnelly will take on the roles of Carla and Heather, respectively. Ms Buring is perhaps best known for her screen roles on "Downton Abbey," "Ripper Street," "The Descent," and "The Twilight Saga." Her previous West End credits include 'The Vote' (Donmar Warehouse) and 'Strangers on a Train' (Gielgud). Ms Donnelly previously appeared at the Royal Court and on Broadway in 'The River,' as well as 'Philadelphia, Here I Come!' (Donmar Warehouse), 'Judgement Day' (Almeida), and the Regent's Park Open Air productions of 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.' Her screen credits include "Outlander" and "Beowulf."

The Wasp is written by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm and directed by Tom Attenborough.

Synopsis: "Follows once close childhood friends, Heather and Carla as they meet twenty years later and awkwardly reminisce about the past. Then Heather presents Carla with a bag containing a significant amount of cash and an unexpected proposition. Delving deep into issues such as bullying, regret, kindness and forgiveness, this electric thriller asks how far beyond the playground we carry our childhood experiences and how far some people are willing to go in order to come to terms with them."

The creative team behind The Wasp features scenic design by David Woodhead, lighting design by Oliver Fenwick, and sound design by Fergus O'Hare.
