Charlie and the Chocolate Factory extends to 31 May

Following positive notices from the popular press, the new stage musical of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Musical , directed by Sam Mendes, has extended its booking period to 31 May 2014, at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

The new musical, which opened 25 June 2013, following previews from 22 May, has book by David Greig and new songs from Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Designs & costumes by Mark Thompson, choreography by Peter Darling, lighting by Paul Pyant, sound by Paul Arditti.

The cast includes Douglas Hodge (Willy Wonka) and Nigel Planer (Grandpa Joe).

The mysterious Willy Wonka is opening his Chocolate Factory for just one day, and for Charlie Bucket it promises to be a mouth-watering chance to feast his eyes on sweets beyond his wildest imagination.
