"CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG" BREAKS DOWN!!!

Last night's(17th Apr) performance of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, was cancelled because of car trouble at the London Palladium

One of the musical's producers, Michael Rose, told the BBC that the problem was an electrical fault within the car's computer system. He said: "We had to replace a component at the last minute and, because all the components have to speak to one another there was a problem and the car would not start. "It is the not the first time a West End star has thrown a strop and she was given a stern talking to."

Customers turned away will be offered seats at future performances, Mr Rose said. He said that they got the car working two hours after the show was due to start. "Chitty was flying around the auditorium last night but sadly without an audience," he added.

The new hi-tech stage version of the movie classic, which cost more than 6m to stage opened only a day before to rave notices from the popular press.
