A new musical adaptation of Cinderella will be arriving on our screens later than expected. Previously scheduled for a February release date, Cinderella will now be in cinemas from 16 July.

Based on the commonly told fairytale of the same name, Fifth Harmony star Camila Cabello plays the title role, later finding her Prince Charming after losing a glass slipper at the ball.

Alongside Cabello, the roster of stars in Cinderella includes Billy Porter as the fairy godmother, Idina Menzel as the stepmother, Missy Elliott as Town Crier, Minnie Driver as Queen Beatrice, Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Robert, Charlotte Spencer as Narissa, Tallulah Greive as Princess Gwen, Fra Fee as Hench, Luke Latchman as Griff, Mary Higgins as Princess Laura and Pierce Brosnan as King Rowan.

James Corden, Romesh Ranganathan and John Mulaney will play a trio of mice, all named after themselves. Beverley Knight will also star in an unnamed role.

For the movie, Cabello and Menzel have worked on original music, which will receive its debut release once Cinderella opens in cinemas.

As well as the upcoming film adaptation, a new Cinderella musical will also open in the West End in 2021. Carrie Hope Fletcher stars as the title role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest show, opening at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from April 2021. Cinderella tickets are on sale now.

Cinderella is in cinemas from 16 July.
