Clare Higgins joins Russell Beale in Major Barbara

Joining previously mentioned Simon Russell Beale (Andrew Undershaft), will be Clare Higgins (Lady Britomart Undershaft ), Hayley Atwell (Barbara Undershaft ) and Paul Ready (Adolphus Cusins).

Clare Higgins London stage credits include "Phaedra" at the Donmar Warehouse in 2006; "Night of the Iguana" at the Lyric in 2005; "Death of a Salesman" at the Lyric in 2005; "Hecuba" at the Donmar Warehouse in 2004; "Vincent in Brixton" at the National & other theatres from 2002; "A Letter of Resignation" at the Comedy Theatre in 1997; "Sweet Bird of Youth" at the National Theatre in 1994.

It is directed by Nicholas Hytner, designed by Tom Pye, lighting by Paul Pyant.

Major Barbara works tirelessly for the poor at a Salvation Army shelter until a large but morally dubious donation is welcomed from her estranged father, Andrew Undershaft, a millionaire weapons manufacturer. But when she visits the factory itself, the well-fed workers in their thriving model town make a devastating case for arms trade profits and a whole new set of ideals.
