‘Come From Away’ to close in the West End
The final performance will take place on 7 January.
Come From Away follows the stories of 7,000 air passengers who found themselves stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. In a Come From Away review on London Theatre, our critic said: “This is a genuinely original musical… It's a show with an impact that's difficult to describe: it feels like it creeps up on you unawares, before flooring you with emotion.”
Come From Away won four Olivier Awards in 2019, including Best New Musical, Outstanding Achievement in Music, Best Theatre Choreographer, and Best Sound Design. By the time the West End company take their final bow, Come From Away will have played 1048 performances in London.
The Come From Away company multi-role all the parts. The full cast includes Alice Fearn, Emma Salvo, Gemma Knight Jones, Harry Morrison, James Doherty, Jenna Boyd, Jonathan Andrew Hume, Kate Graham, Kirsty Malpass, Lejaun Sheppard, Lucy Park, Mark Dugdale, Robert Hands, Sarah Morrison, Chiara Baronti, Ricardo Castro, Stuart Hickey, Alexander McMorran, Jennifer Tierney and Matthew Whennell-Clark.
Come From Away features an original book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. The pair created the musical after visiting Gander during the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Find out more about Come From Away in London.
